National Police Dog Trials 2009: Kent played host to The National Police Dog Trials for the first time. The RSPCA animal centre at Leybourne: Staff at the RSPCA centre in Leybourne are dedicated to finding suitable homes for up to 3,000 unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals who come through their doors every year. Julie Maddocks visited the centre to meet some of the rescued animals. [WATCH]
Jon Woode’s album launch: On Saturday 24th January Orange Street music club in Canterbury hosted the launch party for Jon Woode’s new album Country Roads. Jon was joined by Alister Atkin, Lucy Kitt and Brighton based band Emile. [WATCH]
Best Behaviour School for Dogs.: A new puppy can be delightful, but when it comes to training them it's not alway that straightforward. Jess needed help with her Jack Russell Nutmeg. History at The Walpole Bay Hotel.: Take a step back in time and visit the Walpole Bay Hotel in Cliftonville, Margate. Threshold Plays In Kent: "This winter, cross the threshold of a stranger's home...encounter a warm and an enigmatic experience...."This was the invitation from Threshold an initiative of East Kent Local Authority Arts Partnership. Memories of the Marlowe: In the first of a series of Your Memories on Your Kent TV we visited the Marlowe Theatre Canterbury. The history of the theatre goes back much further than the building it is in at White Friars at the moment, and with plans for the Marlowe Project in 2009 some of the long serving staff members and performers recall their time at the play house. The Farmhouse: Canterbury has a new gig venue, The Farmhouse, run by the team who organise the brilliant Lounge on the farm festival. Monday nights are BANG BANG club nights with The TC Djs. Euro Fair & The Kent Food and Drink Festival: After a years absence, the Euro Fair & Kent Food and Drink Festival returned to Canterbury in the Dane John Gardens. The collaboration between Produced in Kent and Canterbury City Council proved the right ingredient when hundreds turned out to enjoy the good food and great weather across the three day event. PLANT TO PLATE - LEEDS CASTLE: the Food Festival - 'Plant to Plate' was a roaring success at Leeds Castle thanks to the fantastic choice of different products, impressive cookery demonstrations and great weather.  The focus of the festival was to celebrate local produce, sustainability and traceability.  With such fabulous food on display, it would have been foolish for Your Kent TV and Julie Maddocks not to go along and try what was on offer. PETER FIRMIN CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF CHILDRENS TELLY: 50 years ago, local artist Peter Firmin was discovered by film maker Oliver Postgate. The pair created some of the most iconic children's television programmes including Bagpuss, Poguls Wood, The Clangers and Ivor the Engine. Ramsgate Week 2008: Ramsgate Week is the Royal Temple Yacht Club annual regatta and is widely recognised as the friendly regatta and the alternative to Cowes. Although this year it was hampered with poor weather conditions which saw two days of sailing postponed, it was heralded a huge success.  Your Kent TV's Julie Maddocks chose one of the best days of the week, (weather wise) to experience first hand the prestigious event first hand. Ivor The Engine comes to Kent: Celebrating his 50th Birthday the little Green Locomotive from the top left hand corner of Wales, made a journey South when he visited the Kent & East Sussex Railway. Ivor The Engine treated passengers to trips up the line from Northiam, with many of the popular Children's TV series characters on hand to transform the station in to his original home of Llaniog. Meet the new tiger cubs at Port Lympne: Port Lympne wild animal park has a new pair of tiger cubs. Julie Maddocks went along to meet them and to find out how they are doing from head carnivore keeper Richard Barnes. [WATCH]
Bewl water activities: Julie Maddocks enjoyed a taster session at Bewl Water, the ultimate outdoor pursuits centre near Lamberhurst, where she tried sailing, canoeing, wind surfing and cycling. [WATCH]
Marlowe Theatre 2008 Panto Launch of Snow White: Brogdale Farm Faversham, has seen a variety of visitors through it's doors over the years, but the star attraction of the cast of the Marlowe Theatre's 2008 Panto was probably the strangest. The cast were there for their photo call to launch the production, with Eastender's actress Emma Baker and TV's multi-talented Steven Mulherne playing two of the lead roles. War & Peace Show 2008: The Hop Farm Paddock Wood played host to the 26th War & Peace Show. Over 4,000 military vehicles were displayed on the 400 acres of land, with displays of tanks and living history depicting all aspects of military history. Julie Maddocks & Your Kent TV went to take a look around and met of the WWII veterans of Easy Company whose real life story was televised in the the drama series Band of Brothers. [WATCH]
Myleene Klass becomes Ships Godmother in Dover: Multi-talented classical musician, singer and presenter Myleene Klass became 'ships godmother' to the superliner Carnival Splendor in Dover. The ceremony featured the former Hear'say star who told Your Kent TV about ther naval links through her family. Julie Maddocks managed to catch up with Myleene on board the impressive ship which cost over £300 million to launch and can carry more than 3,000 passengers. [WATCH]
Kent County Show - 2008: Tens of thousands flocked to the 2008 Kent County Show at Detling. One of the largest outdoor events in the County celebrates over three days all things Kent. A main feature of this years event was ' Why Farming Matters' focussing on the importance of locally produced goods. Your Kent TV's Julie Maddocks went to meet some of the people who are ensuring that we can access our local goods, and were at the show to get the message across. [WATCH]

The Might Boosh Festival - Hop Farm, Kent: The Mighty Boosh came to Kent in style at the Hop Farm Paddock Wood. With an impressive musical and comedy line up the 20,000 strong crowds each of the two days were not left disappointed. Noel Fielding and Julian Barret, created the Radio and TV Series The Mighty Bush in 1998, and now have a huge cult following, which was demonstrated in the audience with hundreds paying tribute to the pair in head to toe fancy dress. Joe Pasquale - Stars & Directs Peter Pan Panto: King of the Jungle and local funny man Joe Pasquale, helped launch the Panto - Peter Pan at the Press Call held onboard HMS Gannet at the Chatham Historic Dockyard. Playing the part of Smee is a gift for Joe, and he told Your Kent TV's Julie Maddocks, why the Panto which will be staged at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford means so much to him. [WATCH]
Z008: Z008 was heralded as 'the newest and most exciting thing to hit the South East in a decade'. But thousands of festival goers were left disappointed at the event which saw delays in the start, hours of queueing in the heat and headline acts not performing. A spokesman for Z008 put it all down to teething problems. Julie Maddocks reports on the event for Your Kent TV. [WATCH]
Flying High from Kent International Airport: Sometimes going on holiday is so stressful that it leaves you returning home in need of another break. Stress free travel would be a dream come true. Kent International Airport is trying to make the dream a reality, with car parking, check in, departure and arrivals all as hassle free as possible. But does it work? MV Pocahontas - Sample The Thames Cruise: For a relaxing, entertaining and educational trip to London from Kent, look no further than the MV Pocahontas. The twice weekly 'Sample The Thames' cruise is a six-hour round trip to the capital. The cruise departs from Gravesend's Pier, it will take you as far as Chelsea stopping off at Greenwich on the way. With the help of the Freeman of the River Thames, the boat's crew have first hand knowledge of one of the country's least used natural highway. Children learn about evacuees in 40s week: The Kent and East Sussex Railway played host to more than 800 Kent school children during its 40s week. The youngsters were able to recreate part of what was the biggest movement of British people in World War Two. More than three million youngsters were moved to supposed safety away from the larger cities and towns, and the fear of bombing. Majority of the children were aged between 7-11, and as they did not know they would end up or when they would see their families again, it was an emotional event. Your Kent TV's Julie Maddocks jumped on board and caught up with some of the children of today. [WATCH]
The Big Cats of Smarden: Smarden is a quintessential Kentish Village. With a pub, primary school, butcher and big cat sanctuary. Tucked away in the middle of the Kent countryside is the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, a specialist conservation charity whose focus is big cats such as tigers and leopards. Your Kent TV's Julie Maddocks got up close and personal with some of the residents. [WATCH]
Cookalong at the Allotment: Smack bang in the middle of Dover High Street is a fine gem waiting to be dug up, at least when it comes to dining that is - The Allotment Restaurant. The owner and Head Chef , Dave Flynn prides himself on sourcing local produce from markets, farmers, and local allotment holders who bring their own produce in. As part of Your Kent TV's Coookalong, Julie Maddocks was invited to prepare a dish which seems really simple, but is often cooked wrong - Risotto. Radio 1 Big Weekend Hits Maidstone: It had promised to be the biggest thing to hit Maidstone - and it delivered - The Radio 1 Big Weekend. The 2 day festival was home to 4 stages and over 60 Acts performing in the towns Mote Park. Over 500,000 people had applied for the 30,000 places at Europe's biggest free ticketed event. The star studded line up included Duffy, The Zutons, Scouting for Girls, The Feeling, Enemy and Madonna. Fantastic weather added to a brilliant weekend, and Your Kent TV were there to soak up some of the atmosphere infront and back stage at the event. [WATCH]

Could you be the next Lewis Hamilton?: Presenter Julie Maddocks satisfies her need for speed at Buckmore Park karting circuit near Chatham. She discovers that a growing number of youngsters are taking up the sport and following in the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton, who started his career at the track. [WATCH]
Zoo keeper for a day at Port Lympne: Presenter Julie Maddocks had a go at being a zoo keeper for a day at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, with a little help from young zoo keeper of the future, Lilly Duffield. Between them they feed the lions, rhinos, giraffes, gorillas and tapirs and Julie gets the opportunity to clean out some of the enclosures. [WATCH]
